If the manufacturers updated this product, it would compete as one of the best programs on the market. As it is, with the absence of a word processor, structure templates and brainstorming features, The Writer’s Software Companion is number eight.
The program is designed to stand alone as a reference. It does not provide plot skeletons or formulate outlines for you, but it does provide interactive libraries and advice columns to educate the writer.
The troubleshooter is comprehensive and more than likely will guide through any writing jam.
The tools and pages are clearly labeled making navigating the program effortless.
The Writer’s Software Companion was created in 1996 and looks outdated. It doesn’t offer many of the conveniences offered by some of the newer creative writing programs.
The software installed properly, we didn’t encounter any problems while loading this program.

The Writer's Software Companion is a simple and effective tool. It runs concurrent to word processing programs such as WordPerfect or Word. This program has to be used in conjunction with a word processor.
