The ability to spark creativity sets Storybase apart from the rest and makes it one of the better creative writing software on the market today. The narrative features allow you to come up with ideas that at one point you may have considered inconceivable. It is an excellent program for someone who is hurting to come up with ideas or thrives on creativity.

The big weakness of Storybase is the lack of features. Though features are put together well and provide some excellent writing tools, when you consider WriteWay is $50 less, it's hard to justify spending the extra money.

Feature Set:  

Storybase takes an idea and brings it to life by providing the writer with possibilities that they may have previously overlooked. With 2,363 narrative solutions, it's hard to find a scenario that Storybase doesn't cover.

Storybase's tutorial is easy to use and follows a step-by-step process that allows even novice computer users to excel.

This software uses a split-screen format with the word processor on the left and the idea creating features and narrative solutions on the right side of the screen. The narrative solutions invoke thought, break through writer's block and take your story in a new and exciting direction.

Ease of Use:  

Storybase is one of the easier products to use. The tutorial is an excellent feature and can assist anyone who wants to put forth the time to learn the program.

Ease of Installation:  

Installation is easy-just put in the CD and follow the instructions.

Help/Support:  

Storybase has a help option on the toolbar and the manufacturer's website provides technical support, but there is no FAQ page or phone support.

Summary:  

Anyone struggling to develop an idea would do well by seeking Storybase's assistance. While Storybase does not outline, or create plot skeletons, it does provide a forum to develop ideas.
