Power Structure is a practical product, as long as you don't need help in generating ideas. A unique feature to this program is a name bank that contains oodles of names—great for finding that perfect name for your character.
Power Structure’s broad feature set make it worthy of a place on the top-ten list but the software’s lack of brainstorming features and tutorials keep it from ranking higher.
This program’s different views allow you to switch from one aspect of your story to another, enabling you to keep your story organized, avoid redundancy and save time.
Power Structure has a report feature so you can to print different parts of your writing, for example, if you only want to print the information you entered in character view, simply choose this option on the print reports screen.
While the fully functional word processor is a great add-on and gives you the option of choosing the size of the lettering, bold, italics and underline, you can't change the font.
You’re left on your own to learn Power Structure—the absence of any type of tutorial or training in the program is a serious drawback.
The word processor is easy to use because of its familiar format but navigating the various views can become difficult because of the lack of proper training.
We didn’t encounter any problems while installing this software.
The help/documentation is very limited as the help menu on the toolbar only gives links to the Internet. This can be an annoyance if you are unable to connect to the Internet.
From the developer’s website you can email, fax or mail any problems. If you don't want to wait for the response, try the FAQ page.
A helpful tip of the day appears each time you start the program.
Power Structure is ideal for the writer who already has a set style and methodology. It has a variety of great features that can save you a tremendous amount of time. However, expect to spend a good amount of time learning to use this program. The help resources are limited and almost exclusively available online.
